Just wondering if any of the EduGeeks out there had used Free Konica Minolta Copiers before?

 

We have been looking at a couple of new MFDs for offices, and they seem to be offering one of the models we have been looking at on a 'free' rental basis where you just pay for copies, and the per copy rate is very much the same as a Framework contract on the same machine, but saving £100 a quarter on lease costs.

 

Sounds a bit too good to be true, but I'm hoping to now be overrun with 'Geeks telling me they are great!

 

It seems to be part of Photocopiers Direct Ltd, based in London - any experience with them either??

Sorry to resurrect an old post, but I'm wondering the same myself! Did you go with them in the end, has it worked out alright?

From using Konica devices, you are paying a bit more than you can do per page print (about 0.5p per page Colour), but depending how much you print, then that may well be a saving. Other thing to look at will be SLA for repairs etc. similarly, you will want to check to see if you are able to have a supply of spare toners too.

have you seen the contract? I'd be looking for minimum volumes, excessive toner delivery charges as well as how they ensure you don't leave it in a cupboard to see the contract out if things don't work out as well as any exit fee's. I really don't miss shopping around for copier contracts

 

I've also been warned of odd/sneaky charges such as being charged per colour used or being charged for scans, I'm not sure if these are things that have happened or purely scare tactics put out by rival companies.
