craig2562 Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 I've got a SBM in the school that can't connect to FMS when using the remote server. She gets the following message: General SQL Error. [Microsoft] SQL Network Interfaces: Error Locating Server/Instance Specified [xFFFFFFFF]. [Microsoft] [sql Native Client] An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server doe[Microsoft] [sql Native Client] s not allow remote connections. [Microsoft] [sql Native Client] Login tiemout expired Alias: dbCheckLogin I know little about SQL so any help would be much appreciated. Not sure why it's mentioning SQL 2005 when we are running SQL 2014?? Hoping someone can help as I would like to get this resolved. Thanks Craig
Steve21 Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 When you say using the remote server is this an RDS one etc? If so have you checked your connect files on it? Steve 1
craig2562 Posted October 13, 2016 Author Posted October 13, 2016 Thanks for the response. Yes Steve it's on the RDP Server. I will check the connect files.
