[sims] FMS SQL2014 Issue

I've got a SBM in the school that can't connect to FMS when using the remote server.

 

She gets the following message:

 

General SQL Error.

[Microsoft]

 SQL Network Interfaces: Error Locating Server/Instance Specified [xFFFFFFFF].

[Microsoft] [sql Native Client] An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server doe[Microsoft] [sql Native Client] s not allow remote connections.

[Microsoft] [sql Native Client] Login tiemout expired

I know little about SQL so any help would be much appreciated.

Not sure why it's mentioning SQL 2005 when we are running SQL 2014??
 

Hoping someone can help as I would like to get this resolved.

When you say using the remote server is this an RDS one etc? If so have you checked your connect files on it?

Yes Steve it's on the RDP Server.

I will check the connect files.
