Discworld Stamps. Is anyone else collecting these?

Following the sad death of Terry Pretchett the other year I needed to fill a missing Discowrld shaped gap in my life and think I have found the ideal solution.

It also panders to my inner OCD!

I've just begun to order the start of a collection of Discworld stamps. These (unbeknown to me) have been on sale since 2004 and some actually for for substancial amounts on Ebay now.

They are produced by the Discworld Emporium (New Stamps | Discworld Emporium) and have a huge collection which range from pocket money prices such as 60p up to whole sheets and first day covers etc. with new ones produced regularly.

Is anyone else here collecting them, and how large is your collection?

What is it about blokes and collecting things?!

We have large cupboard full of Luton Town carp memorabilia. Then there's the stamp collection. And son's coin collection.

I've had to put my foot down over the years and prevent new collections taking over other parts of the house!

My first stamps arrived yesterday and the envelope had some Discworld stamps on there with an Ankh Morpork frank mark :)

These are 'proper' stamps btw. Printed on gummed stamp paper.

I have a handful, some I got at early conventions (when I could actually make them) and a few I was sent by friends ... and they are precious indeed.

Bernard and co produce some quality items, and I would love to add to my DW collection ... but will have to settle for a few bits and pieces occasionally snapped up.

I need to update my UU degree actually. I had one of the original ones (achieved in 2000) but I am looking to advance my B. Thaum as I am still a measly Level 1 wizard (still higher than Rincewind though!) and I need a few diplomas to help me get to level 2 ... before I scarper to Braseneck College to try and get a Masters.

The early stamps now go for silly money. Even a quick look on Ebay will show you Discworld stamp sheets that went for £10 12 years back now valued at several hundreds and even early individual stamps which sold for 40p now go for up to £100.

I know ... but that would mean selling them. Some of my Clarecraft pieces go for silly money on fleabay too ... but not interested in selling those either.

There is a point to being a collector ... you collect things, not trade them.
