RAID Driver Missing

Got an interesting one for you, I'm stumped so is a colleague of mine.

 

Got a Dell T110 II with a PERC S300 raid controller, populated with 4 x 1TB (931GB visable) drives as a RAID5.

 

Everything working fine till today when the power dropped, go to restart server and it won't boot, RAID is all ok but the Windows installation is either corrupt or missing the RAID driver to boot.

 

Used a WinPE type environment with RAID driver in and can see all data it just won't boot. This is Server 2012R2. The server is a DC and Exchange box amongst all things as its from a small business.

 

Any suggestions to get this working again, we just want to as such inject the RAID driver back into it and away we go, everything else appears to be in tact. My colleague has been in IT as long as I have been alive and its puzzled the both of us.

Does it start Windows but crashes out? Or is the server having problems reading the RAID 5?

I'd be more thinking there's a problem with the boot record or such, I can't imagine it's suddenly forgotten how to use a RAID controller.

 

What actual error do you get?

Boot record is where I was going with it but I ended up leaving it with him. The site had a power cut and took the server down so was wondering if there were updates part installed and it just had a fit, I've had PC's do it before but never had it with a raid card in before.

 

Not sure the exact wording as it had been a long day but he's managed to restore it using the previous nights backup, although he did have to order in a 3TB drive to do it but its up and running. A good one though especially for a server.
