steven_layton_sl Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 A student has just created a Office 365 event, inviting all staff and students to it. Is it possible to stop this happening?
NicholasEsping Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Hide your distribution groups from students.
Cache Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Or just restrict who can send to your all staff/all student distribution lists? Ours are restricted to Staff Only being able to send to them. 1
steven_layton_sl Posted October 12, 2016 Author Posted October 12, 2016 Hi guys I have set the All Staff and All students mail groups so that they are moderated by myself (although this can't stay as me!). I have then set both email groups so that the All Staff group can send messages to both moderated. This seems to be working. What I am unsure of is whether this will stop students from both sending emails to these groups, but also trying to set calendar events to these groups. Thoughts?

This should work fine for the calendar as exchange sends an email containing the calendar item which is what gets put in your calendar. If the email can't be sent or is stopped by yourself it can't update users calendars. 1
