Smart Notebook 16.1 Smart Ink Performance

Hi All

 

We deployed Smart Notebook 16.1 on all our classroom PCs this summer.

 

We've noticed quite a few performance issues with Smart Ink - symptoms include slow down of PC's e.g. frequent lag of mouse movement and relatively high ram usage of Smart Ink itself. On a couple of PCs I rolled back to Notebook 14.1 and the old version of Smart Ink - no performance issues - re deployed the PCs with 16.1 back on and we have the frequent slow downs.

 

Has anyone else rolled out 16.1 and had any similar issues? Is this a common issue - I've not seen any reports of performance issues with 16.1

 

We're all 64bit Win7 and PCs are a mix of i3s, i5s with 4-8gb of ram and SSDs. So PC spec shouldn't be an issue (hopefully!!)

The issue I'm getting with 16 and 16.1 is when users boot up and their screens aren't interactive, using SMARTBoard 4065's. Ink has to be started from programs or repaired before starting. Happening on a variety of HP/Toshiba Win 7 i5 machines, 4GB RAM/500GB HDD.

 

Starting to lose my hair/patience/mojo.
