Acer Quick Access Silent Install

Hey Everyone!

 

I'm hoping someone out there can help me with a problem I'm trying to figure out. We recently purchased a large number of Acer TravelMate laptops for a 1:1 program we are piloting at our schools. However, there is one piece of software I have not been able to figure out how to deploy over the network. Does anyone know how to silently install the Acer Quick Access software via command line? I've tried all the normal /s /S /silent /qb /q type commands, but nothing seems to work.

 

Any ideas out there?

Scott, would it be possible to provide a download link to the software installer you want to make silent.

If it's too big, are you able to point to it from the Acer website...

Once there, it is under the Applications tab.

 

Any help you can provide would be most appreciated as I just can't seem to figure this one out and I can usually get this kind of stuff working...

I've downloaded the file and unzipped it.

Inside I see the following root folders

 

ColorIntelligence

LMDriver

Lumiflex

 

Files...

CreateTXT.cmd

MOD01A00Q80060000L.enc

OemSetup.cmd

QuickAccess_x64.msi

QuickAccess_x86.msi

Setup.exe

 

I opened the OemSetup.cmd and it almost suggests that it will do the silent bit for you, however, could you just reply with the output of these reg commands that it will run....

 

reg query HKLM\Software\OEM\Metadata /v Brand
reg query HKLM\Software\OEM\Metadata /v sys

 

It looks like it depends on certain values being returned.

Just a quick check, how have you already attempted to run silently??

It suggests that the LMDriver should be first installed (rebooted) then launch

setup.exe -s

Ahh! Can't believe I didn't try "setup.exe -s"! Could have sworn that I did that one, but I think I did everything with a "/" instead of "-"

 

Looks like the "setup.exe -s" worked!

 

Now just gotta get it into SCCM...
