OpenOffice 4.1.2 and the verifying progress bar

Was wondering if anyone has had the problem of when opening openoffice on the mac the verifying progress bar come up and can be on that from anything from 5 to 15 20 mins. Was wondering if anyone has found a solution for this?

Have you tried LibreOffice?

 

If it's a bug in OpenOffice, it might have already been fixed in LibreOffice.
