garethEds Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Afternoon, I'm trying to install SQL Management Studio on my WSUS server and it fails telling me that KB2919442 is needed for it to continue. So I've downloaded it and tried to install it only for the server (2012r2) to tell me that this update is not suitable for this server. Yes - I have downloaded the correct version. Any ideas why this would happen? Cheers Gareth
garethEds Posted October 5, 2016 Author Posted October 5, 2016 Never mind. All sorted. I forgot to unblock the ability to run a downloaded file. IDIOT ME GJE
Steve21 Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Have you tried this one at all? https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2975061 (or even the latest version of the updates) I find with a lot of these sort of updates it gets upset as a newer version is released and gets itself in a tiffy if one's been installed after another. garethEds Posted October 5, 2016 Author Posted October 5, 2016 I was hoping that Windows Update on that server would have picked up all needed updates. I've let them all through our WSUS server. Gareth
