Dos_Box Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 I'd forgotten all about this! I'm grabbing my ticket today, is anybody else going? I last went a couple of years back and it was an awesome day. Sooo looking forwards to this one http://www.playexpomanchester.com/
Garacesh Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Sounds like something I'd be interested in, but after looking at the 'What's On?' page there's not really a whole lot that takes my fancy. I don't recognise any of the guest speakers, I don't considerably care about YouTube or Twitch, nor Minecraft. Cosplay can be cool, but I can take it or leave it. Retro games I can get on GOG. There's no way in hell I'd lug my PC into Manchester city centre for the LAN - it's heavy and it cost too much to leave the house with. I don't recognise any of the indie games there, etcetera, etcetera. Shame really, because the concept is right up my street. The specifics just don't float my boat.

That and the old consoles and pinball Arcade games are great and all, I used to hang around at the arcade in the Trafford Centre when I was younger, but the Playstation entered my life during early adolescence which kind of took over. And I still own a fully functioning PS2 slim So I get my retro kicks that way mostly.
Joanne Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I went to the Blackpool one earlier this year and it was awesome. Loved playing actual pinball and playing on Point Blank and the Simpsons. Also smashed Mr Pete at pong on the hardest setting!

Garacesh Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 It isn't retro if it isn't pre-playstation one! Bl**dy Youngsters Sod off, PS1 (1995! Though I didn't get one until about '98.) counts as retro Maybe even PS2 (2000). But that's pushing it. Anyhoo, back on topic
