Wallpaper and Screensaver on one PC for all users...?

Hi All,

 

Looking for the easiest way to accomplish getting a custom screensaver and wallpaper on our hall pc.

 

Must be for all users, including one that currently has it set by GPO (overriding anything set locally).

 

Started looking at it on Friday afternoon (bad choice) as I've only just realised why my user GPO wasn't applying to the computer in the OU....

 

Obviously I am trying to apply to one computer, but the parts of the GPO for wallpaper and screensaver are in the USER section.

 

But now I've had my coffee this morning and the light bulb came on.

 

So far my Goooooogling has come up with loopback (with lots of warnings on unexpected results on old complicated GPO environment) or WMI filtering (but no examples that show it being used for a single computer and some that say it's only for preferences).

 

Am I over complicating it? This must be a very common thing to do...

Loopback is a way to do it.

 

Bit OTT for one computer though as you need to apply the loopback to all the other computers you don't want to setting applied to.

 

I'd put it in its own OU and apply whatever settings from there.

 

 

I use loopback for not applying a setting that locks the computer after 10 mins of inactivity. On whiteboards and display screens but I have like 40 of them.

 

 

EDIT:

 

Set the screen saver in your users OU GPO then apply the loopback to machines you don't want this to apply to....
