zebulunn Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Hello, Is there a proven method to disable windows update on the Home edition? I'm reading a few google results saying editing the local proup policy won't do it and services will reactivate. The nucs in our canteen running the coin machines are failing and take forever to roll back disrupting breaks.
newpersn Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Windows update service - Stop and disable?
DJ-1701 Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 If that doesn't work, could always try adding registry entries/local gpos to point to a fictional WSUS server.
zebulunn Posted September 22, 2016 Author Posted September 22, 2016 The service was stopped and set to Manual start. I have changed to disabled. Will monitor. From experience, does this also apply to updates that have been already downloaded and pending a shutdown?
