HDMI audio dropping

Hi.

We have an issue with our mini Optiplex pcs and large screen monitors here. It's driving everyone crazy.

The sound in the day will periodically drop from the tv/desktop pc until you reboot them.

They are plugged in via HDMI.

I've disabled the other audio device in Device Manager ( the onboard Realtek ) but it's still dropping audio.

 

Has anyone had this issue before please? The pcs aren't going into any kind of lower power mode ( they aren't even set to do any power management from what I can see).

my nuc at home does this if you turn off the amp/tv with the nuc on you get no sound until you reboot the nuc and over the weekend even then you got no sound until i fiddled with some audio output option or other. an Intel 4000 series video card by any chance and windows 10?
