nickb23 Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Hi Guys, At one of our schools, we have a mixture of old and new Smart Interactive Boards. The old ones are running Notebook 12 (I believe) and the new ones are running 15.2. Over the holiday we have had to install Notebook 15.2 onto a few other laptops. We have enough activations left, but when I install it with one of our licenses, we get the message "Maintenance Expired - The Installed Version of this product requires a newer maintenance license" So does this mean that the license is only valid for a year, or is it attached to a specific version of the software. I have also done the product key checker and it says that the maintenance has expired.. Can anyone explain to me how the "new" smart Licensing works? It just seems a way for Smart to get more money from school.... Thanks Nick
willtech Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 (edited) As far as I was aware it is covered to the version that was the last release before the maintenance expired. I had some here were I could only have a certain version of smart board as the maintenance expired. You pay for the main product with smart but then to get updates and upgrades you have to buy the maintenance. If you buy new I think you covered for a year only. Edited September 11, 2016 by willtech
willtech Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Also if you put your product key in at smarts download page it should tell you the latest version you can have on that key.
