We have Salamander creating groups in AD which are then synced with Google Apps using GADS.

When I log into the Google Admin Console I can search the 'teachers of' groups fine but when I try to send an email to one of these groups I cannot search in gmail for these groups. All my other groups appear but not the 'teachers of'.

Stuart from Salamander is suggesting that it might be a setting/fault in GMail that is preventing them from showing.

Can someone who uses Salamander to create 'teachers of' groups tell me if they have any issues like this or if you did something to make the groups appear?

Thanks

Do these groups have the email address field populated in AD?

When did the groups get created? I have found they can take a long time to appear in Google Apps. Our class groups took 3 days to appear in Google Drive.

This was it. I was too eager and thought the groups would appear for selection straightaway. i have just tried from home now and they are starting to appear.

A quick update on this... I worked with the customer on this, and about 15mins after this post - on checking in the Google domain myself - the groups had imported via GADS; and were displaying in Google mail. Some latency in cloud services is inevitable - particularly as each of the Google Apps seems to have a different "pickup schedule" for imported objects. The Teachers of groups is a large number of objects to enumerate - which could account for this.
