[MS Office - 2016] PowerPoint cannot print to network printers

Searching here has shown this to be an issue with Office 2013, too, but I haven't found a solution.

 

Word, etc can still find the printer, and the printer shows up in the list in PowerPoint and is listed as "Ready", but when selected displays "Cannot connect to Printer" (or similar, I forget the exact error)

If the user saves the presentation, closes PowerPoint and opens it up again, they can print.

 

Did anybody ever find a solution for this?
