cpjitservices Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Hi all, Ive made a boo boo. I created a RAID in a new server then proceeded to install windows on the 500gb single hard disk... during the install... Windows... In all of its wisdom has put the system reserved on the 1TB RAID drive that I have created. Not ideal, if the RAID fails the system wont boot. Anyway of moving that darn partition without having to reinstall everything ? Thanks
Steve21 Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 It's never really a supported method but any normal partition editor should let you do it. Partition magic/gparted etc etc Steve 1
cpjitservices Posted August 18, 2016 Author Posted August 18, 2016 ok, I forgot to create the RAID after the install not letting this problem happen. Apparently that partition is created on any disk marked as Disk 0. Ill give that a try but I dont see it working.
Steve21 Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Just remember to try it from within Windows not the bootable one so it can pick up the raids drive Steve 1
Guest MD5T Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 It'll probably be easier to start from scratch
