chrispounds Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Hi All, I'm trying to get DirectEdit working - i've installed the client and am double clicking the file to edit with DirectEdit. it appears as if it loads the client in the background, although it gives me a read only file, which i cannot save without changing the name, it also doesn't appear to re-upload afterwards? Not sure if im doing something wrong, or something is blocking the application from working correctly, any ideas? Can provide more info if needed, Cheers, Chris
angrycomputingteacher Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Are your Ftp details correct? I don't use the software myself but I would assume this as a first answer.
chrispounds Posted August 3, 2016 Author Posted August 3, 2016 As far as im aware, it doesn't use Ftp to deal with these files, its an 'edit in browser' functionality - there is certainly no option in the HAP+ Management section to enter these, will have a looksee though, thanks.
chrispounds Posted August 3, 2016 Author Posted August 3, 2016 No, nothing obvious, it just gives me a read only file to edit, which is obviously no good, and then doesn't upload any changes i do make, so im at a loss really!
angrycomputingteacher Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Is it software you download or is it something you run like a Web app? I don't use it so I don't know.
chrispounds Posted August 3, 2016 Author Posted August 3, 2016 Home Access is installed on our IIS server and works like a web portal, you then download a lightweight client to enable the use of DirectEdit - I think its a policy or firewall rule somewhere, because home users outside the domain can download/re-upload the edited file fine. Thanks, 1
