Could make matches 'interesting' for a while, but surely it's long overdue?

 

Most importantly it needs to be enforced in all leagues - including those for Juniors.

I can't believe it wasn't a rule already! Any other job if you tell a colleague to F off you get repremanded.

 

Players set an example to kids and whether we like it or not they do mimic their behaviour.

 

Just relies on the refs following through with it and not chickening out.

Currently there is some rules about surrounding the ref.

 

These look like they will enforce those already in place with tougher sanctions.

 

Just hope that players, managers, technical team and fans respect these new rules.

VERY long overdue...

 

Not to mention the inconsistencies a ref gives a 2nd yellow for a shirt tug (on the ref) and same ref ignores it later.

 

About time they nailed this on the head, let's hope they give more yellows for the.. wrestling games that go on in the box.

I'm a football ref and yes this was long over due, first few matches of my season will be interesting as I'll have lots of ESFA fixtures to do. Now if only they could make the yellow card 10 mins in the sinbin.....
