Chris Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 We want use eportal over the internet so that teachers can log on offsite. Preferably a server off site with our lea so that other sixth form schools can also use for registrations. Anybody else has similar setup or any guidance on how to achieve this will be helpful.
Joanne Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 we had to get us an isa server for this.... so we could 'dial in'.
CyberNerd Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 you can setup apache to reverse proxy to your eportal server
lonewolff Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 We have eportal set up running behind IIS on the eportal server, then apache2 installed on our gateway server (the only server we have with a public ip) which forvces everyone from outside of the schools local network to connect over SSL then just acts as a proxy to the IIS eportal server. This works very well.
jammers Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 What rules did you need to apply to point external users to the server where eportal is running. I am about to attempt to give access to Eportal externally from our website. Our website is hosted at county, and eportal is behind our isa server. Many Thanks
