Share permissions

Hi all,

 

Due to something which happened this morning, it has come to my attention that my predeccesor was a great fan of the "Everyone" group when it came to share permissions. Is there an easy way to find out where there are share permissions for "Everyone", and then where there are file permissions for "Everyone"?

Not sure of an easy way of doing this.

 

I would just start by using "Computer Management" on each server to find the shares and then manually check the share permission. Discounting homedrive/profile shares (depending on how it is setup) I wouldn't have thought that there would be a huge number of shares in operation.

Yeah, you'd think not wouldn't you. There's 110 on one server.

I have this exact same problem! I currently have students that browse each other home drives and add/delete stuff. My predecessor wasn't a fan of using the Administrator account either, so I get loads of Access is denied messages whenever I tried to alter anything. My way round it is to setup a new domain in the summer!
