Hi Guys I've got a teacher whos excel keeps sticking and lagging. it only seems to be when she clicks on one column in one document. It isn't the PC as I have tried opening it on other PCs

I don't understand.. are you saying the problem occurs when this file is opened by any user on any PC. Or just for the one user?

Ok.. so the issue is with the file then.. could be that it's corrupt. Does it run any VBA code? Have you tried creating a new file and copying across the data? If you can post the file that might help us

unfortunately i tried copying the data over to a new file and it didn't

It didn't what?? Copy anything? Copy correctly? Stop the lagging? Something else?

Are there any formulas in the file that might be poorly written and so causing the slowdown? I'm really down to guesswork now without any specific details or actual data to work with. Sorry.

Go to control panel and select system

Choose Advanced System Settings in the left hand column of choices on the next dialog

On the [Advanced] tab, click the {Settings...} button in the Performance section

Clear the checkbox next to the "Animate controls and elements inside windows" entry right at the top of the list

Click [OK] and close out all of the dialog and the Control Panel

Also does the excel spreadsheet have any macro's that are loading on 'Sheet1'?
