Printer deployment

Why is deploy printer deployment via gpo not working on Windows 8.1. This works fine on Windows 7 the printers are being deployed per user using the deploy printer option not preferences. It seems to be very wooly how it works. I can see the printers on the shared on the server.

Can you elaborate a bit more as it works OK in Windows 8, 8.1 and 8.1u1 for us (and many others too). Any screenshots of what you've done to deploy them would be a great help and you might get some replies

Printer are deploy by security filtering of policy then deployed under User> Polices> Windows Settings> Printer connections. This seems to not be applying since a windows update that I am guessing was released on the Tuesday 14th June. The update has then applied on 15th and 16th and now printers being deployed this way are now not working.
