Athlona Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 (edited) Hi, Its that time of year again when we all have to create/update builds for your Domain Networks Last year 2015 I updated a Windows 7 32bit image and when I tested it deployed out I Noticed 180 Windows updates downloading and installing! When I created the image back in 2015 I always reboot and check again and "There are no updates available for your computer". And now I am trying again and it has only found 65 updates installed them fine but I bet if I get it added to the Domain it will continue to find more Windows Updates!!! One thing I did notice there were no Office 2013 update in the 65! Which rings Alarm Bells!!! Also last year I noticed the Good One "You May be a victim of software counterfeiting box came up" Which I can't rearm the Windows or Office Licenses as I need to retain my Activation Count 3. Please can anyone advise/help? Many Thanks in Advance. Paul Edited June 16, 2016 by Athlona
Steve21 Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Do you have it setup to pull "additional product" updates, else Office wouldn't pull down from online. (assuming you're not using WSUS in this update?) Steve
Athlona Posted June 16, 2016 Author Posted June 16, 2016 Hi Steve, We do have a WSUS Server but the images are updated off the Domain. Our WSUS Server is setup for Windows7 & Office 2013/16 updates though!
Steve21 Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 If they're off the domain it'll go to the internet site, which by default doesn't include "additional products" there should be an option below the normal updates saying something like search for additional software (or settings) Steve

Athlona Posted June 16, 2016 Author Posted June 16, 2016 I can't see any option for additional software anywhere!

Athlona Posted June 16, 2016 Author Posted June 16, 2016 If I do a re-arm won't it count as one of my activation counts?
sted Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 If I do a re-arm won't it count as one of my activation counts? yes thats why i sue vms and just roll back after a rearm. your other option is feed it a mak key which will get stripped on sysprepping
Athlona Posted June 16, 2016 Author Posted June 16, 2016 (edited) Sted I update these Images using a Virtual Machine but when you say roll Back do you mean from a Snapshot or do you mean from within Windows System restore? If so doing a either wouldn't that remove any changes/updates installed? Edited June 16, 2016 by Athlona
