Which Office265 licenses to assign

Looking at my Office365 agreement licenses i see the following:

Office365 Education For Students

Office365 Education PLUS for Students

Office365 PROPLUS for Students

 

At the moment we issue out Exchange Online (plan 1) for Students which contains Exchange Online (plan 1) and Mobile Device Management for Office 365 (greyed out). If i assign any new license from the table do users lose their emails? This is something that i've heard?

No they don't loose any emails as far as I know. I've changed the license a few times to get Office Desktop Apps with Pro Plus.
