mdschumann Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Hi all, I'm wondering whether anyone else has any experience with software for booking events, including some sort of approval process for privileged users? We are currently using extcal, an open source calendar and events booking system. To use an example, staff would use it to submit an excursion date/time, then certain heads of school would receive an email indicating a new event requires approval. Upon their login they would then approve the event and it would be displayed on the calendar for all to see and plan around. The problem is that extcal isn't actively developed (the last release was in 2004) and there are a few bugs that are causing issues. Is there some other software out there that would perform this task easily? Something that is actively developed and supported would be preferred, perhaps something that could integrate with outlook and exchange? Any help would be appreciated. Mark
Domino Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Sharepoint would be a good bet, workflows can be made that allow for approval, including emails. also document workspaces are quite useful.
