[iphone] Office 365 Shared Calendar

Hi all

 

I'm struggling with this one, have searched but always come up with an answer it can't be done - I've been shown that it can be done though by someone else but they don't know how.

 

I have a shared calendar which a user wants to be able to view on their iphone. Nothing I can see in options or configurations will let me add a calendar from another mailbox that I can see.

 

I have been shown an iphone from someone else, using Office 365 (I've been told) who has their own calendar and other users calendars all listed on their iphone which have been shared with them. How can this be?

 

Does anyone know the secret that I am missing in order to make this happen (and if you do please would you share it)?

Use the ics link if it's just for a few users?

 

or do you mean like a public one?

In Settings > Mail, Contacts Calendars, add your own native O365 account. Name this account 'Your account' for example.

 

Now repeat the process and add the account the shared Calendar belongs to. Towards the end of setup, swipe everything off apart from the Calendar option. Name this account 'Shared Calendar' for example.

 

Now when you go to the built in Calendars App, you'll see your own Calendar, but also the Shared one.

I can use the add a second account method for the SLT one, but not the whole school one unfortunately as only a select few can edit that one.

 

How do I get the ICS link @Steve21?

 

Edit: Have suggested the OWA app, but it's one of those things now that they can do it, why can't we....

Whichever account can share it should be able to see it. if you try via OWA etc and go publish you'll see a web link and ics link

 

(Or send yourself an invite through email and copy the ics off that if it's easier)

I must have my permissions restricted too much then.

 

When I share by email (or with myself) I get nothing, only an outlook link to access the calendar and to publish the calendar I only have availability only.

Just tested it as not done it in a while.

 

So from Outlook right click it and Publish it, and click whatever you want e.g. Full Details and then below it you get the HTML and ICS link

Got it, I restricted anonymous sharing so have allowed Anonymous Full Details in a new policy and have now got it there!

 

Don't know if it's the same as how it works on others, but atleast they've gone off happy for the time being!!

Is the ics link open to all without a password?

If you know the link, yes which isn't ideal, but the link is relatively complicated.
