Projector not pausing in full screen mode

Hi, got an issue in school, that have never come across before.

 

When viewing a powerpoint or Smart notebook slide in slideshow view, you can freeze the image on the screen with the projector remote(tried moving the mouse about, and you can see it has frozen) however press the ESC button, and it come's out of it. It appears to pause ok though when not in slideshow mode. So for instance in powerpoint, in edit mode, you can pause the screen and then go away and open sims ect, and it stays on the screen that you made still.

Has anyone come across a similar issue?
