Another nightmare. I had an issue with a server, restarted the server, it has Hypervisor and machines on it. Now the server doesn't show up in Hypervisor...at all. I'm done. Any idea what's going on?

Does the hyperv console open? Are the vm files on the drive? Was there any other vm's on the host? If so, are they there?

The console opens but all I see is a replica of another server (that's being backed up to here):

HyperV Manager shows physical machine on left. Right pane has a replica ( I would expect that)...but that's it. No virtual server.

Don't know where to look for files....sorry haven't had any chance to learn HyperV.

By default the virtual machine configuration files are stored in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Hyper-V, and the virtual hard drives are stored in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Hyper-V\Virtual Hard Disks.

If its there, try reimporting it, if not, have a look about for vhd or vhdx files. Should be easy to find as they will be large

Thank you for your swift reply. Between your info and the previous admin, I believe I was able to restore/import the system. The desktops and shares are back...so I think I'm good.
