Studying for IT technician or higher jobs

Hi guys.

 

I have been working as an IT technician for the last 10 years. Currently I work in 5 different schools. I'm responsible for everything that is to do with IT,cabling etc. I have no qualification for this job, I learned it as I went along hence I'm thinking of taking a course.

Im looking for a course that could help me if I need to look for another IT support job.

 

Any advice would be highly appreciated!

I am only going to say that you shouldn't beat yourself up too much about your lack of IT qualifications. The ones I have are so outdated that they're not worth the paper they're printed on.

 

After 10 years, it's your experience that will sell you... and if you're in need of a review of your cv to make sure you can sell yourself then @witch is the best thing going on this forum

 

I'll let others come in with the up to date qualifications

ditto ive got a degree and its never done me any good whatsoever. MS courses are worth looking at ive got a few of those now. It just depends what you want to do really.

I have been looking at IT Technician jobs but most of them actually would pay me less than I earn now (30k).

 

What I really like is to move up the ladder but as I never did any study I think I should start with the basic and build on that.

 

So far N+ is looking like the one to start with.
