talksr Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Hi there, I have recently configured a new Server 2012 FRDC and a second Server 2012 for WSUS and AV. The servers are named stm-sr-001 and stm-sr-002 respectively. I am able to browse to both on the local network or from server to server. If I open on a client computer or server the following location: http://stm-sr-002.local:8530/, I get the following screen... Should this display if it is working correctly? I have added this to the correct place in Group Policy and just wanted to verify that everything is configured as expected.
ChrisH Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Have you checked the log on the client, that will give you more information.

talksr Posted May 5, 2016 Author Posted May 5, 2016 %windir%\Windowsupdate.log Thank you. Well the GP seems to be working as there is mention of the WSUS server in the logs. There are quite a few errors showing in the log. I have attached it. Client computer has detected 39 updates and is currently installing them. WindowsUpdateLog.txt *Update, 37 updates failed and two were a success.
LytchettNM Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 The WSUS service uses BITS to update the workstations with their updates. I would recommend using a GPO to enable BITS and windows updates services to automaticity start on your workstations, and maybe setup a WSUS GPO to enable the updates to install automatically at certain time of day.
