cookie_monster Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Who here removes the CREATOR OWNER permissions from the root of the C: drive on XP installations? If so have you noticed any compatibility issues? Cheers.
elsiegee40 Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 as far as I am aware Creator Owner retains permissions, even if you do remove it from what you can see on the Security tab, it makes no difference. If you subsequently change the owner, then obviously the original owner will no longer have permissions.
cookie_monster Posted February 4, 2008 Author Posted February 4, 2008 elsiegee40 i think we may be talking about slightly different things. The creator owner group has full control over folders that they create on C:, if i remove that group then users cannot create folders in the root of C:. I am aware that it acts like a holder meaning whoever creates an object will become the owner and their user account will be listed with those permissions.
cookie_monster Posted February 6, 2008 Author Posted February 6, 2008 Changes rolled out and no issues noticed so far. Cheers.
