DPM 2012r2 - Replica Inconsistent

Ok, been using DPM for over a year and had no issues.

 

Recently I have 3 VMs which are not backing up due to Replica Inconsistent. (all other VMs are backing up fine)

 

If I perform a consistency check while the VMs run then it fails but if I shut the VMs down and then perform a consistency check then all is fine until the next back up.

 

2 of the VMs are Server 2012r2 (DC and a member server holding shared docs etc). The other VM is running Ubuntu.

 

DPM is on the latest version as is the agents on the hosts. VM Integration Services are also up to date.

 

Any one come across this before?

Look in the event logs and at VSS.
