has Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 Hi, We have a few Lapsafe Smartline trolleys (with pre-configured power leads) around our LA but they were configured for Dell. Problem is we are now getting HP laptops. The connector and power rating is the same but the HP laptops won't charge. Lights are flashing on the laptop which the manual indicates that its a faulty power adaptor. One option is to change the pre-configured cable/board for HP compatible but its going to cost an arm & leg for each trolley. Anyone has any other ways of doing this. Thanks, H.

We had a lapsafe and it cost about £100 for the engineer to come out and remove the old laptop chargers from the trolley and then replace them with the new ones that came with the laptops.
has Posted April 28, 2016 Author Posted April 28, 2016 Thanks for getting back @Fazza. Our trolleys have a power board and from that a cable that plugs into the laptop and not actual charger as you would get with a laptop.
JATSO Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 Vendor Lockin Get a qualified electrician to re-wire in a standard extension bank and future proof the trolley at the same time. 1

They use the end of the power lead that the laptop manufacturer provides you with and wire it in to the power board and change the power board if it is the wrong voltage.
