hallb15 Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Warning: Shameless plea for donations... My daughter is a member of Karate International Black Belt School. They are a non-funded community group in Leeds. She has only been attending for 18 months but has already progressed to a green belt (Junior 6th Kyu). On the 31st of January 2016 Isabel entered the British Karate & Kickboxing Championships in Manchester. She won two bronze medals and qualified for a place on the England team and the opportunity to compete at the WKC World Championships in Portugal in October 2016. We are trying to raise £5,000 for the team to be able to pay for their travel, accommodation and England kit for this event. Sensei Steve Leak has setup a gofundme campaign to try and raise funds. If you are able and would like to help, please consider contributing. Even just £1 would help. If you own or represent a business, we are also looking for sponsors in return for advertising on our website and facebook page as well as wear sponsors logos on our uniforms. We will also be publishing the names of sponsors on our web sites and facebook pages as well as in any news articles. If you are in the Leeds area, why not come along to one of our fund raising events. More info on the Karate International facebook page. Many thanks, Ben.

hallb15 Posted November 3, 2016 Author Posted November 3, 2016 I wanted to say a huge thank you to @elsiegee40 and @VeryPC_Colin_M for helping fund our trip to the WKC World Championships last weekend. If you've not already seen it on the Stocktober thread, my daughter won 2, yes 2 silver medals in the under 13 girls Kata and traditional sparring (Kumite) categories. I'm a very proud dad and very proud of the team - all 7 members who entered from our club came back with at least one medal. Going for Gold next year... 3
VeryPC_Colin_M Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 Nice one @hallb15! So glad she won some medals and had a great time :-) 1
elsiegee40 Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 Congratulations and you have every right to be proud. A bit of door widening needed for heads to fit in your house now 1
