App Inventor - Android Emulator Update

We have this installed and was working fine but it looks like it now wants to update the android emulator part and its saying that It cannot download the update for our onsite machines.

 

It works fine at home, but not onsite - is there a way to side load the update?

 

I've tried copying the .android files and the whole program files\app inventor folder from a working one over but it still comes up that the emmulator is out out date, then errors out with:

 

Unable to load update from the App Inventor Server.

 

Any ideas anyone?

I'm looking at this at the moment as well. From what I've found the "Unable to load update from the App Inventor server" was caused by a URL being blocked by our filter. I unblocked it and the update came across fine. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way of side loading the update as yet either. I have to do the update for each user and then it has to be done on each different PC that the user wants to use App Inventor on (I would assume you wouldn't have this problem if you used roaming profiles on your network though).

 

If anyone has found a way of updating the companion without having to get each user to do it individually it would it would be good to know how you did it.

I have a call scheduled with our LEA to look into it so if I get any more info out of that I'll add it in here.
