[ms office - 2013] Microsoft Office Proessional Plus 2013 encountered an error duing setup.

Hello,

 

Sorry if this maybe a repeat post, I did perform a search but to no avail.

 

I am experiencing huge issues installing Office 2013 on a Windows 10 machine. Ran the setup as a local admin, the setup reaches around 98% ten rolls back and states it has encountered an error during setup. I have performed a search online, one solution was to enable to task scheduler service which was already enabled and running.

 

Any support would be appreciated.

I know this isn't the best solution, but have you considered Office 2016? They're pretty much identical, if not Office 2016 being slightly more optimised. Something Microsoft could have done in a Service Pack to be honest!

Thanks Michael, fantastic idea. Just tried running the setup file for 2016 and it was looking good until it reached the end, then decided to roll back like office 2013 with the same error message "Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016 encountered an error during setup"

Do the event logs give any clues?

Checked the event log but to be honest I couldnt see much. There were no clues why this is happening.
