Windows XP on Hyper-V wants to activate but has no network settings...

as above really.

 

Got an old XP computer that monitors our phone system.

 

As soon as i started it wanted to active windows but i cant do anything due to needed to enter network settings in windows for it to talk to the internet.

 

Is there a way round this?

I don't think it would activate even if it was networked, I seem to remember trying a few months ago and it failing. So did phone activation IIRC.

Tired doing the phone activation and it didn't want to know the install id.

Should have been tried but failed phone activation..

 

Was stuck , I think I looked at a number of forum threads and came to the conclusion I was fighting a loosing battle.

Just wondering if I can install or repair over the top and not lose any programmes installed. It's the only computer that we got working with the phone software. Our phone company want to charge us for help with our system.

Are you getting the activation screen shown below? If so, try this, enter your network settings, then activate Windows.

If you have problems on the MS Activation phone it usually transfers you to their call center and they can sort it for you. They're off shore but they've always managed to fix it for me.

Dosnt work. Everytime i enter network settings it loses them.... And not giving me enough time to sort it..
