caffrey Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Anyone got any recommendations for ceiling speakers + amp for a large-ish room (about 8mx8m) ? I considered the Vision TC2-AMP4 and CS-1600 bundle but I'd like to go cheaper. I've looked at getting a LEPY 2024a amp (currently at 17 quid) and these http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00A68S8XM?colid=17SFJY8SEJG7L&coliid=I132I836DNUIXN&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl speakers, would work out quite cheap but I'm not sure if it would work well in the room (Ideally I'd like a few speakers but I think they would have to be 4 ohm)
mikkydoos Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 CPC will have loads of similar products and might be cheaper. U might struggle with that amp if you're going to chain the speakers
caffrey Posted March 1, 2016 Author Posted March 1, 2016 That's what I was thinking, I'd need 4 ohm to chain, but I can only find small speakers - I was hoping that those 8" would be adequate. We have the vision sets in some classrooms and I find them a little lacking but fine for a smaller room

VeryPC_Anthony_L Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Hi @caffrey what are you wanting to play through the speakers? There are various other speakers that you could look at from brands such as Apart and Australian Monitor. Depending on how many you have it will depend on what Ohms you need. If you are wanting quite a few say 4-8 I would suggest getting 16 ohm speakers as if you wire these in parallel this would then give 4 ohm. Let me know if you would like any pricing / possible solutions.
caffrey Posted March 1, 2016 Author Posted March 1, 2016 Thanks, or I could use a speaker selector and run 4 altogether that way I think, like I said budget is super tight!
