Sims error - invalid user or password

Just migrated Sims to a new server and get 'invalid username or password' when trying to login at the server.

 

Both servers are running SQL 2012 express

 

I have tried to detach the database from the old server in import it on the new one, but still get the error. If I re-import the database back onto the OLD server Sims works fine.

 

SQL manager does list all the users and changing the password from SQL manager does not help.

 

Have contacted LA and they did send me an email with things to try but that did not help.

 

Would be very grateful if anyone can help.

Did you migrate using their migration toolkit, or did you manually do it?

 

I seem to think that only by using their toolkit, will the passwords remain intact.

Might be worth checking that both sims.ini and connect.ini match up correctly with the database and not looking at the old server Edited February 17, 2016 by Here2Help

phew, fixed it.

 

Looks like when I imported the database it must have been corrupted or something, exporting and re-importing a working database did not help but ticking the box to DROP users when exporting the database and then importing a working database worked.
