sparkeh Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Sometimes I get this interface: After I reset the app it will go back to normal. Mmm I had that a few times with the Android Beta. Thought I reported it but can't see any post from me about it - sorry :s Its the Tapatalk interface isn't it?
ZeroHour Posted October 31, 2016 Author Posted October 31, 2016 A new version is rolling out now which uses a new notification system and also seems to fix the link problem reported.
Devontechie Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 When opening the app from a notification, I clicked the arrow in the left hand corner to go to thread list but it closed the app! App version: 5.2.129 1
jmak Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 When I have notifications about several posts it still takes me to a forum that one of the posts is in. New symptom: when I press back, which used to take me to the What's New view, it reloads the forum. If I press it again, I get back to the What's New view as expected. On a positive note, the new updates link from the bell icon is great. I get all of the notifications and they link to the posts correctly, so I now just ignore the notifications in android and go straight to the App. Overall, good update 1
ZeroHour Posted November 22, 2016 Author Posted November 22, 2016 I rolled a new build out late last week, are these issues still present? I will get it reported asap if it is as I am keen to push out the new version to all asap.
elsiegee40 Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Have you taken a look at the photo upload problem when editing posts in the Android App that I reported to you in Whatsapp? 1
ZeroHour Posted November 22, 2016 Author Posted November 22, 2016 Have you taken a look at the photo upload problem when editing posts in the Android App that I reported to you in Whatsapp? I suspect that may be due to a plugin issue but I am not 100% sure yet. We cant update the plugin as it will break the live android app.
jmak Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 I was still seeing the strange redirects to the forum that I reported a couple of weeks ago. I've just uninstalled and reinstalled and will let you know. 1
jmak Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Still the same unfortunately.... I've had a few Android notifications over the last hour and they took me to the BTRD forum. Pressing back reloaded that forum, pressing back again takes me to "what's new". Given the choice, is go with it as I still think it's a significant improvement - the in app notifications work well. Version 5.2.131 1
ZeroHour Posted November 24, 2016 Author Posted November 24, 2016 Right I think I know whats happening, when you get multiple notifications and hit the tray drop down the app launches but instead of taking you to the latest thread notification it seems to bug and takes you into the forum that thread exists in. Hitting back the app takes you out of that thread even though you are not actually in the thread, you are in the thread list. If you hit a fresh notification having had no others the app correctly takes you to the new post. I have reported the issue and hopefully they will finally get it fixed. 2
ZeroHour Posted December 1, 2016 Author Posted December 1, 2016 A final RC is coming in the next few hours which will be move to live when the iOS version is ready. The notification issue has been reported and they say it will be fixed in a future update but no ETA so I think we will go live with the current version. Please can you post things you like from the new version over the old live version here as I will use some of the comments in the app description when it goes live. Thanks all for testing and I will hopefully have a new version again to test in the future (you will all automatically get it)
elsiegee40 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 It's taken so long that I can't remember what the old version was like!
jmak Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 It's taken so long that I can't remember what the old version was like! Ouch! It's the new notifications part within the App which makes the most difference to the way I use the it.
elsiegee40 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 I'm not being rude. It's true. With the iOS app a hiccup meant I did go back to the old version for a couple of days and I remember hating it. But I genuinely can't remember what it is about the new apps that's different now.

Yeah lol, its much easier to go back to prebeta version on iOS than Android.
ZeroHour Posted December 21, 2016 Author Posted December 21, 2016 The new android version is live! it is a new build but *nothing* should be changed over the current build you are running. Thanks for all the testing and reports and a new test version will go live in the new year.
ZeroHour Posted May 2, 2017 Author Posted May 2, 2017 Android 5.3 beta will be going live this week in the next day or so. I will post when Google puts it live to you all. If you were in the previous beta you will get an update, you do not need to enrol again.
ZeroHour Posted May 3, 2017 Author Posted May 3, 2017 5.3 beta should be hitting your phones now. Please report any issues you find after updating. Thanks again for all your help testing.
Devontechie Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 (edited) If you open app via a notification and then press the back arrow at top of screen, app closes. Edited May 3, 2017 by ZeroHour 1
Kingstech Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 The Notifications don't seem to be working properly. When i get a notification it over rides the old notification and then if i open the notification it goes to the last post on the thread and not the 1st unread post in the thread. Also when i open the app from a notification and then use the back arrow at the top of the app it closes the app down. 1
ZeroHour Posted May 11, 2017 Author Posted May 11, 2017 A new update is rolling out now which hopefully will help with the notification issues. 3
