Hi,

Is it me or has smoothwall recently become really bad at detecting proxy sites? we have web proxies blocked in core blocked content and all lists are fully up-to-date but a lot of our students are still managing to discover them even when they blatantly have the words "proxy" in both the URL and keywords of the site?

Anyone else having this problem? we have https interception on too so it isn't that they are using https to get around it.

Would you mind PM-ing me some examples?

Historically web proxy detection has been one of our strong suits, so it's concerning to hear this.

Sure, we have put a fix in place that is working well now by using url patterns and search terms but I will PM you some examples no problem.
