It looks like our folder redirection has stopped working for newly created AD users, I noticed the issue with a new member of staff (accounts are created by Salamander) and I have manually created an AD user since, the same problem occurs.

When I log in with the user, the home folder is completely empty, I'd expect to see the redirected documents folders here. The users have the appropriate permissions on the server share, they can manually create/edit/delete files and folders in their home folders.

I'm struggling to find anything that suggests what is failing, there are no errors that I can find, only an absence of processing as expected. The Folder Redirection log on my test PC hasn't logged anything in 6 months, I suspect this is a result of our ghost image but since clearing the log and restarting/logging on several times, the log remains empty.

A GPResult seems to suggest that there is no folder redirection policy at all, it reports;

Folder Redirection
       ------------------
           N/A

The folder redirection is applied via GPO, the policy is active and other settings in the policy are applying so far as I can tell.

Can anyone suggest where to look next?

Thanks in advance

I would copy the GPO and apply that, just to test if anything has corrupted with the original one.

I think loopback processing is playing a part here, the policy for folder redirection was applied to a user OU, the OU which contains staff PCs has loopback processing applied and set to replace, as no policy for redirection was set there, the policy wasn't applying.

I've copied both policies to test OUs, move the test user and test pc to reflect the live structure and added folder redirection to the policy applying to the computers OU, with my test user the documents are now redirected.

I need to do a lot more testing but it seems I'm on the right path :)

We had this exact same issue a few weeks ago. A group policy was set with Loopback processing replace and all manner of other group policies then looked like they weren't being applied. They were of course being processed but then replaced.
