Win 10 SSD and standard HDD setup?

Hi, I have a new HP computer coming which has a 250gb SSD and a 1tb standard hard disk.

 

I have never set up a computer with an SSD before and was wondering what the best way would be for set up.

 

I would assume we put Windows 10 on the SSD and files on the second drive.

 

 

Is it as simple as just installing the OS to the SSD and then configuring shortcuts to the second HDD for Pictures, Videos etc?

 

Would be grateful of any help.

Pretty much as you said

 

Install OS to SSD and any programs you want specifically fast (Probably all on a 250GB).

 

Then either set libraries on other drives or just have a shortcut to "Music" etc if it's personal one, that's what I normally do

 

Only really gets a bit strange if you're expecting this for domain users who logon to ones with and without 2 drives?

Just go into This PC.

 

Right click, say "Pictures" , properties. On the location tab, change it to something like "D:\My Stuff\Pictures" or "D:\Pictures" etc. When it asks to move or copy, choose move and it'll use it as the default location so it saves there without having to use a short-cut.
