Hi folks,

I know this sits more squarely in the Mac forum, but i hope you won't mind me as a sponsor just making you aware that we just issued an update on our Mac Classroom Management software, NetSupport Assist. I am sure there is always some overlap.

We now offer full support for El Capitan as well as delivering some nice performance tweaks and new functionality. ( Netsupport Assist - Supporting The Next Generation Of Mac and Linux Classrooms)

We should have a funky new update for our ServiceDesk solution for schools available in the next couple of weeks too :)

Thanks Al.

Hi Al, I've got a question with regards to this; we have quite a mixed environment, and all teachers use macbooks, but pupils use Windows 7 laptops and ipads. What would be the best NetSupport software solution to use for this scenario?

thanks

Hi, thanks for the question, In a nutshell, yes, NetSupport School and NetSupport Assist are compatible products....and in truth we treat them very much as the same thing, the Mac/Linux version ( Assist) does offer slightly less functionality though, which is why we name it differently.

We have a page here Environments and Platforms - NetSupport School that summarises all the platforms we support, so in your case, a Teacher can be on a Windows PC, Macbook, Linux netbook, Chromebook or Android Tablet and manage students running a mixture of Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, Chrome and Kindle devices.

We have a dedicated App for Teaching Assistants in the classroom which they can run on iOS or Android tablets too and then monitor groups of students and looking forwards, we also offer a native Windows 10/8.1 "metro" teachers app, optimised for use on a touch enabled device.

I hope that helps, but feel free to PM me if you have any other questions and i can arrange for someone to call you and talk you through it or provide a demo.

Al.
