Android Update Query

I received an update on my Moto X Play on Monday, informing that the Marshmallow update was finally ready for download.

 

Alas the update borked at 42%, resulting in me having no option but to cancel out of the update.

 

Has anyone experienced a failed update, and if so when do update usually get reissued? Is there a set time frame of 24/ 48 hours?

If you go into the about phone informataion page, you can usually search for updates there i believe.

Mmm yep tried that, seemingly it doesn't work, informs me my device is up-to-date.

Can you connect your phone to a PC and update it that way ?

I've fixed a few borked OTA updates on Samsung phones using the KIES software, is there an equivalent for Moto phones ?

I had a borked update on an older phone (HTC Desire) and while it continued to work, it eventually stuffed the phone over - which needed a complete re-image by HTC.

 

You could hold off for a Marshmallow custom ROM - that would probably work.

I would think about backing up and doing a factory reset while the phone is still working.

Sorry when I say borked, I mean it sat at 42% during the download stage.

 

It allowed me to gracefully cancel the download... My bad for not explaining myself properly... I now realise what the missus is talking about.
