Modern day Microsoft training

I'm struggling at the moment when applying for jobs in that when they ask for what training I've done, my answers are still stuck in the XP / 2003 Server days!

 

So what courses do I need to be studying for a modern day environment and can I self study these then go somewhere to take the test?

A good exam to start off with for Server 2012 is the 70-410 (https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/learning/exam-70-410.aspx) It is part of the MCSA certification. With this you can do all the studying in your own time and then book a date and place for the exam.
