penfold Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I've got Amazon prime and would like to watch it on my TV. Now the TV is basic and I have a chromecast which I've been able to try and watch an Amazon Video through it but it doesn't play well at all. I thought I would try and download the video for offline viewing and see if that would improve things but it doesn't look like I can do this on Windows. I've managed to get some prime money due to the offer Amazon were giving when purchasing with no rush delivery. And I was going to use it to buy a video but the fact that I only seem to be able to download/ watch it on my old Nexus 7 is putting me off. I would really like to be able to buy something and save it locally and watch it on any device I choose. Am I able to do this or can I only ever watch it on my supported device through my Amazon Prime account?

Gaz Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 There seems to be lots of websites out there offering solutions, have you tried any of them? https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=amazon%20prime%20video%20chromecast

I have a Now TV box and a Wii in the same room. I think its the Wii that has the Amazon App. You can strip me of the Thanks. 1
penfold Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 I've tried changing the settings for chromecast but they don't really seem to make a difference. I just don't like the idea of purchasing something that I can only watch on their service when I could buy the DVD for the same price and watch it where ever I wanted. I had thought the money back from buying things was really good, but in reality I can see that it's a bit limited as I need to buy another device if I want to watch a film on my TV.
