Steve21 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Morning Guys, Not sure if there's any easy way to tell but how do you know if a SFP+ port is only for Uplinks or anything? As an example the HP 2920 can have a SFP+ port on a module on the back but that says it should only be used for uplink, however a switch like the 5800 has SFP+ and doesn't say anything http://www8.hp.com/uk/en/products/networking-switches/product-detail.html?oid=7482188#!tab=specs Therefore could it be used for example as a 10Gig link to a server/SAN? Or is the assumption that only "full" 10Gb switches are designed for server/SAN and anything else is uplink only? Steve
