How many policies

Hi,

 

Just preparing for a inspection this year and updating our policies. (we do it every year honest)

 

I amalgamated our ICT policy into our e-safety policy which I now know is a mistake, what policies do other school have?

 

(currently doing the data protection policy)

 

I have

 

• e-safety policy
  
• ict aup (soon to live again)
  
• data protection
  
• social networking
  
• byod policy (staff & student)
  
• cctv policy
  
• google apps policy (bit pointless, will mere in with ict possibly)

Do you mean just ICT policies or the whole school policies?

ICT, I don't want to touch the other 400 we have

I got rid of almost all of ours - the actual requirements are covered in other policies and it seemed like duplication introduced opportunities for inconsistency. Now we've realised that the details are spread so wide that you can never find the bit you need when you want it. (Child protection, professional conduct etc)

 

So I'll be re-writing an ICT policy. I intend it to have your list as subsections of one main policy. Can't see why you would want a specific Google apps policy.

Data Protection

Freedom Of Information Act (FOI)

Health & Safety

Homework

ICT

Induction of New Staff

Security

SEND & Medical Conditions

Sex Education

Staff Development

 

However, the ICT policy is the only one I have sole responsibility for

If it isn't in your security/safeguarding/E-safety/ICT policy I'd recommend a password policy.
